I have one question? Why haven't I heard a single Democrat calling for a Constitutional amendment that says you can not be a convicted criminal and run for or be the President. I am aware that with the make up of both houses it would never pass. But at least have it written and plaster it all over the media and make the Republicans explain how not voting for it makes them the party of "law and order" I can guarantee if it was the other way around it would be on the floor of both houses.

See this is my thought too. The US Senate and House (Ds I guess) need to be throwing everything they have at these asshats enabling DJT to exist in our systems. They should be introducing amendments, bills, subpoenas, censure, ethics complaints, you name it. I don't know what they're waiting for.

Meanwhile Republicans have impeached the Homeland Sec without a single crime or misdemeanor committed. It's all very frustrating

How do we shut him down? He's obviously not going to prison right now. This is so ridiculous. It never ends, and it is getting worse. I cannot believe our laws and constitution don't provide any way of ensuring safety in the face of this "movement."

I think the laws are there, but people other than a few prosecutors like Jack Smith are bullied and not taking action. Biden has the power but says he won't use it. Maybe he will and is waiting for the right time. But waiting make us fell they do not have democratic backs.

I was so disappointed when Biden said he won't use any of that immunity ruling. I mean I understand his point - he wants to say that the office of the president doesn't need immunity and therefore he won't change anything he's doing. But I wanted him to offer threats, at least one empty ones. Or if not then at least don't lose all negotiating power and leverage by taking options off the table publicly.

As always, Mr. Trump is projecting what he plans to do, if he once again gains power. Now that he has the American Nazi party and the KKK military members as his Gestapo, he figures that he has the following to eliminate the Democratic Party and anyone else that opposes his absolute rule.
You may recall that MTG wanted the red states to split from the blue states; however, since the blue states pay for the federal government and the red states get more help from the government than the blue ones, the ref states would be bankrupt. I realize that Trump is used to bankruptcy as he’s done that to at least four of his companies, but those red states might have a problem.
Yes I do recall MTG said that and I agreed with her on that alone. But if the people of those states vote vote it then they should get it. Yes they will realize the huge issues after and THOSE voters will turn their rage toward their countries representatives and then rethink it all. They are not convinceable now.
Surely we would provide the funds those people out into like ssi and medicare, but when the states leave the INDIVIDUALS would get the funds direct in one lump sum. USA would not dare give it to their government who would find a way to steal it or say we did not give it.
Those citizens would need to get their government to continue those services with the funds.
That would fail and yes those people will be in trouble.
They need co sequences like that to get through to them. We should not suffer because of that.
Other things could be arranged...their government would need to pay market value for thir homes, if some people want to leave the state to be in USA. Etc.
Those who want the fascism need to experience it them to appreciate democracy.
That would allow us to grow and not be a fascist state as well.

Asn2 stated zi vould see real Republicans returning to daylight in the USA. 2 state solution. Even if only one state got 75% of citizens left the USA that would change congressional voting to the good.
There should be a law the the USA could kick out a state that does not follow and support the upgraded constitution.
Maybe also or alone USA could act on removing citizenship if those people who do not support democracy. That is the way to gi. Congresspeople would be Remo Ed immediately, no need to complete their term.

Over the last 50 years democrats have ceded their power to the right. With the evolution of Kamala Harris we have a chance now to find within ourselves the passion that once fueled our Party. There is no middle ground.
We can allow her ascendancy to fuel the fight to retain our democracy, or live with the most dire of consequences should we let this moment pass.
